Dr. Dhara Patel, OD

Dr. Dhara Patel, OD, is a glaucoma-trained, residency-trained optometrist with expertise in ocular disease and comprehensive medical eye care.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from Marshall B. Ketchum University, graduating summa cum laude, earning Beta Sigma Kappa honors, and serving as an AOSA Trustee.

During her clinical training, Dr. Patel completed rotations with the Indian Health Service and the Veterans Affairs healthcare system, where she developed a strong foundation in medical optometry and the management of chronic ocular conditions.

She later completed her residency in Ocular Disease at UCSF, receiving advanced training in glaucoma management, anterior and posterior segment disease, neuro-ophthalmology, urgent eye care, and peri-operative co-management.

Dr. Patel is committed to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care with a focus on early detection and long-term management of chronic eye disease. She values building meaningful patient relationships and helping individuals preserve their vision through compassionate, high-quality care.

Outside of clinic, Dr. Patel is a big foodie and loves spending her free time outdoors, visiting local farmers’ markets, and exploring new desserts.
